Invasive Plant Identification & Removal Workshop

March 17th, 2018

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Jennie Drake Park

645 Waterford Rd NW, Atlanta, 30318

(meeting location map: https://goo.gl/maps/8NqVwHnZ8UB2)

Note: There is no address on the park sign. Look for park entrance across from private residence at 668 Waterford Rd.

Join Trees Atlanta's Forest Restoration Coordinator, Kevin Mink, for a hands-on educational workshop focused on the Southeast's most damaging invasive plant species, such as Japanese privet, and English ivy. Learn about the invasive pressures facing our urban greenspaces, how to accurately identify and remove these invasive plants, and encourage native plant regeneration. Wear pants and a long-sleeved shirt, closed-toed shoes or boots (waterproof is best), and clothes that can get dirty. Trees Atlanta will provide all necessary tools and instruction, though participants may prefer to bring their own work gloves.

Participation in this workshop is free. A suggested donation of $10 will support the education and urban forest restoration programs of Trees Atlanta.
