TreeKeepers started in 2008 to provide practical tree education over the course of 7 consecutive Saturday sessions (excluding Labor Day weekend) including: indoor & outdoor activities, lively presentations, and engaging hands-on demonstrations. Each 3-hour session is taught by Trees Atlanta staff or community tree experts. Upon completion of the series of 7 sessions, graduates will be trained in a manner that builds skill, pride, and appreciation to continue the stewardship of the urban forest. Participants receive an eastern trees field guide, a native tree, and much more!
Training is for ALL levels and explores:
- Atlanta’s Trees & Urban Forests
- Tree Selection, Planting, & Care
- Tree Diseases & Invasive Plants
- Proper Tree Pruning Techniques
- Project Leadership
