Speaker: Jimmy Gatt - Beekeeper

Many people think that bees get their food from “flowers”, but most people don’t realize that bees get most of their food from trees! Our honey bees and our native bees are both dependent on trees for nourishment and making honey. But not all trees are made equal, and some trees are better for bees than others. This Speaker Series, Jimmy Gatt will tell you how to see a tree from a honey bee’s perspective, and what different kinds of honey from different trees tastes like.

Bio: Jimmy Gatt is a certified beekeeper and a board member of the Metro Atlanta Beekeepers Association. He enjoys talking about bees and presenting to civic groups about bees and ecology. He works as a software developer and lives in Marietta, GA.

This event is made possible through support from the City of Atlanta.
