October 27th, 2018
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Morgan Falls Overlook Park
200 Morgan Falls Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30350
Join us as we take a walk with Jason Ward and learn all about birds! This tour will give beginner bird watchers a introductory course in tactics used to identify birds in the field. We will learn the details that separate species of birds that live around us in Atlanta. Morgan Falls Overlook Park is a beautiful greenspace located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River.
Jason Ward is a birder, writer for the National Audubon Society and an educator at Zoo Atlanta, and a regular guest bird expert at Trees Atlanta. Find him on Twitter @JasonWardNY.
Born and raised in The Bronx, NYC, his love for wildlife began at a young age as he fell in love with dinosaurs. An infatuation that provided him with an escape from the obstacles growing up in the South Bronx provided. Now, he gets to share his love for modern-day dinosaurs (i.e., birds) with the public, during his monthly bird walks at Piedmont Park. Jason’s mission is to change the way the public views wildlife, and to blaze a trail for future generations of children growing up in under-served communities.
Free with RSVP. Please register to attend.
