During spring migration, millions of Neotropical Migratory birds make their way down from Canada to Central and South America. Many of these birds travel over 6,000 miles to winter in the southern regions, but they aren't alone. They are accompanied by birds of prey who are also making the trip north. On this walk, you will experience and learn how to identify Raptors such as hawks, vultures, owls, and other birds of prey as they fly overhead at Kennesaw Mountain. We'll focus on tips and tricks that you can to properly identify these great raptors.

Jason Ward is a birder, writer for the National Audubon Society and an educator at Zoo Atlanta. Born and raised in The Bronx, NYC, his love for wildlife began at a young age as he fell in love with dinosaurs. An infatuation that provided him with an escape from the obstacles growing up in the South Bronx provided. Now, he gets to share his love for modern-day dinosaurs with the public, during his monthly bird walks at Piedmont Park.
Jason’s mission is to change the way the public views wildlife, and to blaze a trail for future generations of children growing up in underserved communities.

Free with RSVP. Please register to attend.
