Wonderful Wetlands
Discover the awesome wetlands in our urban forest and enjoying a beautiful day on Constitution Lakes. We'll start our day learning what wetlands are and their importance to our environment and we will end with a scenic hike. Interactive activities will occur throughout the hike and we will stop along the boardwalk to have a quick snack.
Ages 7-12 (Upper Elementary)
Drop off, only.
HIKE SAFETY TIPS:
- Terrain is easy (including some boardwalks) to moderate (Doll's Head Trail).
- Consider any health issues that may prevent you from keeping pace with the group before attending.
- Some paths may be muddy and slippery, exercise caution.
- Dress appropriately: No open toe shoes, boots with tread are best. Long pants are better than shorts.
- Be prepared for heat and sun exposure, sunscreen is highly recommended.
- Bug spray is recommended, and be sure to check for ticks after the hike.
- Bring personal drinking water and snacks to keep yourself hydrated and nourished for the duration of the hike.
PARKING:
- Parking lot access road is located near the intersection of Moreland Ave and S River Industrial Blvd near the Rush Truck Center.
- Park in the Constitution Lakes trailhead parking lot.
- If possible, carpool with others.
